Brotoloc was founded in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, in 1964 by a small group of forward thinking psychiatric professionals as an alternative to hospitalization for persons with severe and chronic mental illness. The name “Brotoloc” is actually an acronym for the four founders: Brousseau, Tobin, Lorenz, and Connor. Since those pioneering days, we have grown in both the scope of our services and the breadth of our expertise. While keeping our commitment to the provision of services to persons with histories of unsuccessful community placements and long term institutionalization, we have built a reputation for professionalism in the areas of mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and multiple diagnosis.
Today, Brotoloc South, Inc. provides support to over 100 individuals throughout Southeastern Wisconsin through contracts with many county human service agencies, Family Care MCO’s, the state of Wisconsin, and a variety of private agencies and individuals. Ask the agencies we serve—Brotoloc South has established the reputation as a trustworthy and reliable provider, whose service niche is in the successful integration of persons with significant challenges into less restrictive, more independent community settings.
